We're so glad you came!
This website is set up in a bulletin board format so that we can have a central hub of communication among our many members who are spread out across the globe. Here, you will find a grand community of like-minded people from all walks of life, from professional business people to professional hippies and everything in between. We gather here for to prepare for the annual journey to Burning Man, where we all camp together in one of the best camps known to man!
At Stag Camp, you won't find the same drama being accepted within the group that you can so often find at other camps, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. We're also free of dues and there is no obligation to participate in any of the activities we bring together on playa. Of course we have activities to offer the playa, but we won't force you to join in the fun. That is totally up to you! We encourage you to read our Stag Camp Philosophy to fully grasp who Staggers are and what it is that we stand for.
We have very few rules here, but you can read about both of them in the Rules thread. Also of help to you as you navigate the site is the Frequently Asked Questions (or FAQ). There you will understand more about how this website functions so that you can become more comfortable in the setting. There is an Introductions board where we would love to hear a little bit about you so we get to know who you are and your motivation for joining us. You can also read about other Staggers there and perhaps find people of similar interests that you can reach out to and possibly find a playa buddy for your next adventures. (The board is reset every year, thus the only introductions there will be those attending Stag Camp the current year. So don't be intimidated if there aren't many there yet!)
At the bottom of the front page you'll find our community chat box (or cbox). We truly want you to join us there for the wild and crazy spontaneous discussions. The cbox isn't always being used, but you can leave messages of greeting or otherwise randomness. The cbox will most certainly become more animated and busy as Burning Man approaches and you will find you'll get to know other Staggers' personalities and quirks - even before you meet them in person. That helps create the community/family of Staggers that is one of our greatest strengths! To use the community chat box you'll need to come up with a user name and password to log in, but doing so will keep anyone from grabbing your name in the future and you can leave yourself logged in on your computer so you only have to do it once! Just type the name you want to use in the box labeled "name" then click "profile" at the bottom right of the cbox. You'll be prompted for a password, enter it twice, hit enter and you're logged in! You can type text message in the box at the bottom labeled "message."
All in all, there's no place better to prepare for your next burn than here! So sit back, take a look around and get comfortable! We look forward to getting to know you and meeting you in person in the dust!
