Day Packs and Night Packs and Fanny Packs

Ok so many of carry some sort of bag with our goodies as we head out into the city. Jet and I were having a lovely conversation about it today and it made me wonder...what do you find you need and what could you leave behind?

I have a hydro pack that carries around 2L of water. In that pack I keep:
Kleenex
Small ziplocks
Toilet paper
wet wipes
notebook
pen
eye drops
bandana (for dust)
goggles (for dust)
chapstick (x3 cuz i always loose one)
copy of my DL and insurance card in case i try to die or something stupid
Cliff Bar for those late afternoon or nights
Candy (cuz sometimes you need a lollypop)
Smokes
Ash tin
Lighter (attached to bag with a lighter leash)
Cup clipped to bag
Sunscreen tube clipped to bag. (buy the little Coppertone ones once and refill!)
Annie (my lovely Blue counterpart)

After an almost failed attempt to borrow water late at night cuz we didn't have something sharp to pierce the jug with, I think a small leatherman will make it into the bag this year.

What do you carry?

2 liters water.
2 small bottles of water.
1 coke(12oz)
6 pack of TECATE or Pabst. More if I can fit it in.
Crescent wrench.
Channel locks.
Leatherman tool.
Sun screen.
Lotion.
Electrical tape.
4 multi color Sharpies.
Several BRC Welding and Repair bumper stickers.
Note pad or address book.
Useless FRS radio clipped to front of left shoulder strap.
Stag Camp pin on button near FRS radio.
Flashlight.
8 AA batteries.
4 AAA batteries.
Camera.
6 granola bars or something like it.
Cup.
Extra carabiner.
Picked up moop.
Schwag.

I want to add jerky this year but I usually eat my entire supply on the way to the burn....

Ye Old Surplus Army Bag with Patches, Pins, and Paint can hold...

Off brand 2L camel pack (the whole thing, not just the balder).
Trusted empty closed lid thermos like cup thing.
Magically depleting carton of smokes.
The Notebook (as seen in theaters)
Pilot Precise V7 Fine Rolling Ball pen
Black Sharpies in fine, ultra fine, and so fat it ate a ball sizes.
Crappy digital camera that is held in it's own case. (Because you might take pictures)
250ml can of Red Bull
Sometimes a can of Mtn. Dew.
SPF 80 sun screen
Car ashtray cup with lid. (the kind that fits in your cup holder. Trust me, it's better then a Altoids tin.)
Duct Tape.
A bit of rope.
First Aid kit
Toilet paper
Earplugs
Ibuprofen

At night....
Beer in all shapes and sizes
Grey Goose Vodka

Other items might include...
"gifts" from people that the Ye Old Bag never wanted in it
Moop found
10m of rope (x3)

Huge ass bike chain that weights almost as much as the bike it's for.

That should be about it. Really isn't much when it's in the bag.

At night I remove my sunglasses and sunscreen and add some glowy shit to share. Voila. Mon pac!

...that's it. Oh, and chapstick.

Later on i had a hydration pack, and a shirt. yeah wasn't very prepared... this year will be better, i'll bring me snacky things to chew on

Identical loadout sans Annie along with some more...

a Surefire torch, xtra batteries for it, 4 envelopes of EmergenC, Gerber Multitool, Pocketknife, small neosporin, 4 knuckle fabric bandages, crazy glue/new skin, 4 butterfly, 3 2inch gauze pads, 1 gauze roll, 2 LaraBars, 12 lifesavers individually wrapped, 1 Green EL wire for the back of the camelbak, 1 led glowstick for the front, instead of gogs i have prescription sports googles that are tight enuff to keep dust out, and some gifts.

Also I use a 3L since it takes me a lil longer than most to get around and get back to camp.
