Hey Staggers! As proof that Playa Love truly does exist out here far from the dust, I have been blessed by meeting several random Burners over the last couple of weeks. One in particular who I had an instant bond with. He was in the pub two Fridays past and we talked for quite a while. This last Friday night, he came into the bar and had a beer and seemed kinda quiet. He left for a few minutes and came back and I asked him if he was alright. He said he was and had just come in to give me something. What he gifted me was a David Best documentary filmed over the course of five years. Definitely worth checking out thetemplebuilder.com/
Playa hugs, dust bunnies!
It's my job to educate Sparkle Ponies...I'm not nice about it...don't be a Sparkle Pony and we'll get along just fine.
And for something completely different, my boy and I want to the Combine Demolition Derby in Lind, WA this Saturday. Seems like something many Burners would like. Beer, dust, and big machines battling it out in an arena. What's not to like?
Heard about this last year but didn't get out to it. They're doing it again:
"Launched in San Francisco in 2003, Bootie was the first club night in the United States dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup. Now with sister parties in LA, New York, Boston, Paris, and Munich, Bootie mixes and matches every conceivable musical genre, era, and style into one big party where everyone feels welcome. It’s a place where all sounds, cultures, and sexualities can unite on the dance floor. Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation ... with free mashup CDs given away like candy!
DJs Adrian, Mysterious D, and Malderor will keep your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations, celebrating -– and satirizing -– the many different genres of music. Guest mashup DJs will be featured, as well as the infamous midnight mashup show.

Bootie ... because one song at a time just isn't enough."
